Enroll in ACA coverage online in minutes

  1. Click “View Available Plans.” Enter your ZIP code and household details, then select “See plans and prices.”
  2. Provide your information. You'll share household size and income, birth dates, home address and Social Security numbers for each applicant. Lawfully present applicants may be asked for information from immigration documents. Have your estimated income, tax-filing details and any current policy numbers ready.
  3. See your eligibility and choose a plan. The Marketplace determines your eligibility and any premium tax credit, then you compare plans from multiple carriers.
  4. Review and submit. Double-check your application. If you're asked for verification documents, you'll generally have 30 days to upload them.
  5. Confirm your enrollment. Finalize your plan selection and pay your first premium to activate coverage.

Know the 2026–2027 changes

The enhanced premium tax credits expired at the end of 2025. Subsidies are smaller for many households, and the 400% FPL “cliff” has returned. If your Marketplace premium jumped, call us before you renew — we'll compare your ACA options with private plans side by side.

FAQ

ACA Marketplace questions

When is ACA Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment begins November 1 each year. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. Final deadlines vary by state, so check the date for your state's Marketplace or ask us.

Do I qualify for a subsidy?

Households with income between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level may qualify for a premium tax credit. The enhanced subsidies that removed the 400% cap expired after 2025, so households above that level currently receive no premium assistance.

What do I need to apply?

Have birth dates, home address, Social Security numbers (for applicants who have them), estimated yearly household income, tax-filing information and any current insurance policy numbers ready.

What is HealthSherpa?

HealthSherpa is an approved online enrollment platform for Marketplace coverage. Applying through our link connects your application to our agency so we can help you with questions, documents and renewals.

Is an ACA plan better than a private plan?

It depends. ACA plans must accept everyone and cover pre-existing conditions, and they can be very affordable with a subsidy. If you're healthy and over the subsidy limit, a private plan may cost less. We'll compare both at no cost.

Not sure the Marketplace is your best option?

We'll compare your ACA plan with private alternatives at no cost before you commit.
